Minecraft Educator Edition Meet & Greet - Session 1 - June 11 - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) for Win 10 and iOS X is the most recent evolution of "Play, Craft, Learn" for the classroom.  In this hands-on Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) session participants learn the basics of Minecraft Education Edition (MEE), including how to access and install the newest version of MEE from the Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) website and/or the Windows Store for Business.  Next, participants will begin by experiencing several "Worlds" designed to teach players about the features of Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) including navigation, placing and breaking blocks, survival and creative modes, inventory and crafting and even simple command line coding.  Time will be dedicated to practice and discovery in multiple worlds.

Minecraft Educator Edition - Extensions- Session 2 - June 18 - 9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m.

Minecraft: Education Edition supports several additional tools for educators including Classroom Mode, Microsoft MakeCode and Introduction to Computer Science with MakeCode for Minecraft. In this session participants will learn how to use Classroom Mode to manage their students safely and efficiently in a shared Minecraft world.  Next, participants will learn how to use Microsoft MakeCode to introduce computer science topics and coding into the Minecraft experience and finally explore a complete curriculum to teach computer science in the classroom with Minecraft: Education Edition.

Minecraft in the Classroom - Session 3- June 21 - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) for Win 10 and iOS X is the most recent evolution of "Play, Craft, Learn" for the classroom.  In this hands-on Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) session participants will learn how MEE is already being used effectively in classrooms.  Participants will register at the Minecraft.net site, create a profile and search for online training.  Next participants will learn how to use the site to find, download, and modify existing lesson plans and ultimately create their own lesson plans to share back with the MEE community.
