Project Connect is a program designed to strengthen, support, and empower Education Support Professionals (ESPs) through meaningful, purpose-driven relationships. Professional learning is provided for both mentors and mentees.
This pilot program connects new and emerging ESPs with experienced mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support. This is an opportunity to elevate ESP leadership and promote community and career success.

Professional Skill Building
Mentees attend professional learning sessions that focus on goal-setting tools, communication and skills to elevate professional practice.

One on One Support
Mentors and mentees meet regularly for check-ins and attend professional learning sessions together.

By better understanding expectations and participating in professional skill building, mentees will be active members of a professional community and thrive in the workplace.
BECOME A MENTOR
Make a lasting connection with fellow ESPs just like you! As a mentor, you have the opportunity to provide guidance and support to newly hired ESPs. As part of the mentor cadre, you will grow your knowledge and leadership skills.
LEAD
Realize your potential by strengthening your leadership and coaching skills. Become active in a professional community which elevates ESPs.
SERVE
Make a meaningful impact on the success of your fellow ESPs while strengthening ESP retention, supporting union engagement, and creating member success.

Inspire your peers and help shape the work culture of your fellow ESPs, our District, and our Union.
TO BE A MENTOR...
PREFERRED qualifications are:
-
2 or more years of professional full-time experience as an ESP --either Para-Educator or Clerical
-
Experience as a worksite union leader
-
Participation in union-based professional learning
-
Participation in union leadership
-
Experience with mentoring youth and/or adults
-
Possess good listening, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

MENTOR APPLICATION STEPS
